Three Important Items to Start You Off ...

Of course everyone knows Tony Barnhart is speaking this weekend (wear your team colors?), so we won't count that in the top three NEWS items. So here we go:

  1. WE are meeting at the Embassy Suites, 1030 Crown Pointe Parkway, Dunwoody - As you know we are in the "shake down" cruise period (this will be meeting #2). Thanks to all who provided feedback last week, thanks to all for your patience and feedback as we settle in. Let George Stewart know if you have any questions. And, know that we're in the Georgia Room this week (larger) because Tony Barnhart is speaking!
  2. If you're in need of a service and/or fellowship opportunity, keep reading. Lots going on in July and early August ... Rotary Means Business networking, back packs, Bounds Garden, FODAC, Anchor Place Respite Care Volunteer Training, baseball game and more!
  3. Note that the club has a new mailing address - important especially if you mail your dues check instead of paying online.

This Week's Speaker
Tony Barnhart, Mr. College Football

Break out your college football gear and join us at the Embassy Suites (111 Perimeter Center West in Dunwoody, this week in the Georgian Room)for our annual visit from Tony Barnhardt, affectionately known as Mr. College Football. Tony has completed his 48th season of covering college football for newspapers, radio, television and the internet. He was a college football analyst for eight years with the SEC Network.  Before that, he was a college football analyst for CBS Sports and a reporter for ESPN’s College Game Day. And Tony spent 25 years at The Atlanta-Journal Constitution as a college football writer. He is currently writes a column for TMGcollegesports.com and is a guest host for a weekly sports radio show out of Nashville, TN. [more]

Service Opportunity
Join Us in Support of FODAC - August 3

Join the Rotary Club of North Atlanta and DeKalb Rotarians on Saturday, August 3 for our annual FODAC (Friends of Disabled Adults and Children) equipment drive. With your help in years past, this project has collected more than $1,000,000 worth of durable medical equipment from local residents and businesses in the metro Atlanta area; that equipment is then refurbished and redistributed to those in need.

The event kicks off at the 57th Fighter Group Restaurant, 3829 Clairmont Rd., Chamblee, GA 30341. Watch for more details next week, or check in now with Dave Burr.
