A Week of Fun and Fellowship Opportunities: Thirsty Thursday, a Friday Meeting and More

Consider all the opportunities and join us for all that you can:

  • Thirsty Thursday - Before Friday's meeting, join us at 5:30 PM on the 20th at The Duke, 4685 Ashford Dunwoody Rd NE, Dunwoody, GA 30346-1529
  • Tony Barnhart talks college football - at our Friday morning meeting ... Tony has become such a tradition at Dunwoody that we're doubling up - with Thirsty Thursday AND a meeting this week!
  • Saturday morning, 10 AM at the Dunwoody Country Club - filling backpacks with school supplies for 107 of the young people from K-12 served by Tapestri, whose work with immigrants related to domestic violence and trafficking was featured at least week's meeting. Coffee will be served.

Read more below for details ... And don't forget, we're looking for a host family or two for this year's GRSP student and planning for the August 5 DeKalb Rotary Council collection of medical equipment for FODAC.

This Week's Speaker
Tony Barnhart, Mr. College Football

Join us this Friday at LeMeridien to hear Tony Barnhart's prediction for this year's college football season. This has become an annual event at the Rotary Club of Dunwoody - invite your family and friends, people who love football and might be interested in Rotary and all we do to Bring Hope to the World.

Tony Barnhart is in his 47th season of covering college football for radio, television and the internet. He was a college football analyst for eight years with the SEC Network, and before that, a college football analyst for CBS Sports and a reporter for ESPN’s College Game Day.

Tony spent 25 years at The Atlanta-Journal Constitution as a college football writer and has authored five books on college football. Two of the books are the autobiographies of Vince Dooley and Larry Munson. Tony's sixth book “The 19 of Greene” will be released in October.

Tony is a 1976 graduate of Grady College, the school of Journalism at the University of Georgia. He has been inducted into the school’s Grady Fellowship, signifying career achievement and contributions to Journalism.

From Tony Barnhart's Book Promo ...

The 19 of Greene narrates Tony Barnhart’s experience with integration in small town Georgia as a member of Greene County’s first integrated football team. The longtime sportswriter, also known as Mr. College Football, details the Tigers’ surprisingly successful season, the enduring relationships he formed with his teammates, and the difficulties of school sports integration.
