Dear Fellow Rotarians,

I hope this message finds you all in great spirits! Our meeting last week was filled with energy, enthusiasm, fun, and magic. We kicked off our first service project of the year: Huskies Helping Huskies: Backpacks. We need your help gathering items for the backpacks, and we will pack them together after next week's meeting on 7/25. Your contributions will make a significant impact on the lives of local students.

This week, we are excited to welcome a speaker who will introduce another impactful project, No Shame Roswell. This initiative aims to remove the stigma surrounding mental health and provides the community with vital resources and support. It's an incredible opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health issues.

We will also be inducting our first new member Sam Lane. Please be there to welcome him into the family of Rotary.

We have placed pink buckets around the meeting area for your suggestions, and we've already received some fantastic ideas that we will work to implement. Your input is invaluable in shaping our projects and making our community stronger.

Finally, if you have any announcements or need to be added to the schedule, please let me know. Your participation and updates help us stay organized and ensure everyone is informed about our activities.

Let's keep the momentum going and make this a fantastic year of service and fellowship!

Yours in Rotary,

President Nancy

July is Maternal and Child Health Awareness Month

Quality and safe maternal healthcare is essential before, during, and after pregnancy. Along their journey, expectant mothers must have physical, mental, and emotional support, be free from preventable physical and mental illnesses, be equipped to handle the emotional strain and be financially capable of mothering their newborn babies.

Celestial Motherhood & Baby Boutique (CMBB), serves women 12-40 years old from multiple ethnic backgrounds and socioeconomic environments, who are 6 weeks pregnant up to and including their delivery, and postpartum mothers with children up to the age of two.

“I am definitely applying what I’m learning. So far, one of the biggest takeaways is just doing what I can do right now. I keep repeating what the coach said in our group, “If the clothes are in the corner, it’s okay - no one's coming over.”  My life has been impacted because of the support I've received at CMBB. I did not have postpartum depression with my third child like the severe postpartum depression I had with my second."

CMBB offers mental and emotional support through support groups and education. If you’d like to get involved or know a friend/family member who could use support, please reach out! Celeste Weaver, RN at cmbbinformation@gmail.com.
