Upcoming Speaker: Annie Long to Discuss Parkinson’s Disease at Roswell Rotary

We are pleased to announce that our upcoming speaker, Annie Longs, will be joining us to present on a topic that affects millions of people worldwide—Parkinson’s disease. Annie brings a wealth of knowledge and personal experience to this important conversation, making his talk both impactful and deeply insightful.

Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurological disorder that affects movement, often leading to tremors, stiffness, and difficulty with balance and coordination. While medical advancements continue to be made, the need for awareness, early detection, and support for those living with the disease is critical.

During her presentation, Anniel will share valuable information on the latest treatments, ongoing research, and the day-to-day challenges faced by individuals with Parkinson’s. He will also shed light on how families and caregivers can best support loved ones, providing practical advice on managing symptoms and improving quality of life.

This is a must-attend event for anyone interested in understanding more about Parkinson’s disease, whether you have a personal connection or are looking to learn more about how you can contribute to supporting the Parkinson’s community.

Join us for this insightful presentation and come with questions as we explore the complexities of this disease and the hope on the horizon for future treatments.

Be sure to invite others who might benefit from this informative talk.

Parkinson’s Foundation
Speaker- Annie Long Parkinson's Disease

We are so excited to have Annie Long as our guest speaker this Thursday. Annie Long currently serves as the Senior Director of Community Education & Outreach at the Parkinson’s Foundation. In this role, she leads the development and implementation of education and empowerment initiatives across the southeastern United States. Annie is deeply committed to strengthening engagement within the Parkinson’s community and actively cultivates strategic partnerships to enhance the Foundation’s outreach and impact.

Annie played a pivotal role in launching the inaugural Moving Day Atlanta Walk for Parkinson’s and dedicated several years to fundraising in support of the Foundation’s mission (formerly the National Parkinson Foundation). Prior to her current role, she served as Executive Director of PD Gladiators, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing awareness of the benefits of exercise for individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and fostering a robust network of Parkinson’s-specific fitness programs throughout metro Atlanta.

Honor Air Trip April 9, 2025

Roswell Rotary Honor Air has now completed gathering US War veterans, America’s heroes, for a complimentary free day trip to visit their Memorials  in Washington DC on April 9,2025.

On April 9th, approximately seventy World War II, Korean, and Vietnam War veterans plus guardians, a doctor and emergency personnel will gather at the Roswell, GA Community Center in the early morning hours and travel by motorcoach to the Atlanta airport. They will fly on a chartered plane to Washington, D.C. where they will be escorted on buses from the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to the World War II Memorial. Then they will visit the Vietnam and Korean Memorials and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetery. That same day they will return to the Reagan airport, fly back to Atlanta and then by bus to Roswell. Every veteran will have a volunteer guardian to personally assist them. Veterans will be encouraged to take advantage of the complimentary wheelchairs throughout the day.

Thanks to everyone who helped us to gather snacks, made donations, volunteered for the trip, and will be getting up early on April 9th to line the streets and see the buses off!

Last Week at Roswell Rotary
