President Nancy's Message

Raising Awareness: A Powerful Discussion on Parkinson’s Disease

At this week’s Roswell Rotary meeting, we were honored to hear from Annie, who delivered an incredibly informative and eye-opening presentation on Parkinson’s disease. Her expertise and passion for the topic shed light on the challenges faced by those living with the disease, as well as advancements in treatment, early detection, and support resources available for patients and caregivers. Many members shared how much they learned from Annie’s talk, with several expressing how valuable the information was—both personally and for our community. The discussion not only deepened our understanding of Parkinson’s but also reinforced the importance of awareness and advocacy in helping those affected.

Upcoming Speaker: Anisa Palmer on Empowering Women Veterans

Roswell Rotary is honored to welcome Anisa Palmer as our upcoming speaker. As a passionate advocate for women veterans, Anissa has dedicated her career to supporting and uplifting those who have served our country. She will share insights on the unique challenges women veterans face and the resources available to help them transition successfully into civilian life. From employment opportunities to mental health support and community programs, Anisa’s work focuses on ensuring that women who have worn the uniform receive the recognition, assistance, and empowerment they deserve. Her presentation promises to be both inspiring and eye-opening for anyone who wants to better understand how we can support this incredible group of veterans.

Join us for this important discussion and learn how we, as Rotarians, can make a difference in the lives of those who have given so much for our nation!

Committee
Honor Air Trip April 9, 2025

Roswell Rotary is honored to Host our 11th Honor Air Flight.

We are taking 99 Veterans to Washington, D.C. on April 9th 2025. We will be meeting at Roswell Area Park (10495 Woodstock Rd., Roswell, GA 30075) at 0400 with Guardians, Volunteers and our veterans to jump on three chartered buses escorted by Roswell Police Department to Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.

We have chartered a full plane for the day and will embark on a 20 hour trip to visit the US Naval Academy, WWII, Korean and Vietnam War Memorials.

The initial intent of this trip when we started it back in 2008 was to escort WWII veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the memorial that was constructed for them over 40 years after the war ended. Roswell Rotary Club was able to make that happen for 776 WWII Veterans over the span of the first 10 trips. We opened the applications to Korean and Vietnam veterans over the years, as well.

This year we will have Korean, Vietnam and Afghanistan veterans for their red carpet “thank you” to D.C.

This trip is brought to these veterans by Roswell Rotary Club and one special man who was a guardian on all of the 10 trips before this. His passion, love, and dedication to Veterans and ensuring that history was preserved, taught and shared with his students will NEVER be forgotten. We miss our friend, Roswell High School Teacher and Coach Alex Chrzanowski, greatly. But we hope his memory will shine through on 4/9 and we will make him proud.

We will arrive back at Hartsfield around 9 pm (back in Roswell between 10-10:30) on 4/9 and would love to have members of our community, news teams and Rotary Club welcoming these veterans Home.
